Several different projects are active at the University of Pavia’s Centre for Health Technologies (CHT), in the field of Big Data with applications in medicine, clinical practice and biomedical research.
The main activities in Big Data for Health initiatives are:
- Activity: data mining and big data management of biomedical research data and clinical practice and care data.

Furthermore, all the groups have a year-long history of technological migration activities in data mining, BigData management and spatial enablement, working together with research centers and IRCCSs in Pavia.

The groups are also active in teaching and continuing education ablout BigData, mainly in Bioengineering Master degree courses, with topics such as “Data mining and decision making modeling in Biomedicine”, “Artificial Intelligence in Medicine”, and also of the “Bioengineering and Bioinformatics” Doctorate Program, organizer of the International Summer School in “Big data for Precision Medicine”.
