Nearest airports and how to reach Pavia:

Milan Malpensa International airport:
There are several ways to reach Pavia from the Malpensa airport:
The cheapest and usually quickest way is to take the Malpensa Shuttle coach service from the airport to the main railway station in Milan Milano – Stazione Centrale (about 50 min. travel time). From there you will then be able to board a train to Pavia (about 30 min of travel). The bus leaves from Malpensa (both Terminal 1 and 2) every 20 minutes, and trains to Pavia usually leave Milan Central station twice every hour. Coach tickets can be bought on the bus, and you will find the detailed timetables as well as ticket booking service at the website: http://ticketonline.malpensashuttle.it/_en/pagine/step_1.cfm?and_partenza=1&and_destinazione=3 . Train timetables can be perused at http://www.trenitalia.com/tcom-en and http://www.trenord.it/en ; train tickets can be bought directly at the station. Please note that Milan has may different train stations, and this could lead to confusion.
Milano Stazione Centrale: the travel is 1 hr long, then there is a train to Pavia every 30 minutes (30 min travel);
Milano Nord Bovisa: the travel is 35 minutes long, than there is a train to Pavia every 30 minutes (55 minutes of travel). See above for the train timetable and tickets.
This solution is more expensive but it could be comfortable if you travel between 7:00-9:00 a.m or 5:00-8:00 pm, when traffic in Milan can make bus travel times grow unpredictable.

Milan Linate International airport:
There are several ways to reach Pavia from the Linate Airport:
direct bus that links the Linate Airport to Pavia. It stops at the train staton of Pavia, but other stops can be requested to the driver before the departure. You can find the timetable here: https://irp-cdn.multiscreensite.com/e020b6a5/docs/1.3906468..pdf the timetable is only in italian, the first table lists the departures from Pavia to Linate airport, the second one the departures from Linate airport to Pavia.
another solution is to take a taxi from the airport to Milano Rogoredo train station, which is quite close and from which trains to Pavia are very frequent (from one every 30 minutes to one every 15 minutes depending on the time). See above for train timetables and ticketing instructions.
You can also take a direct coach (Linate Shuttle, http://www.milano-aeroporti.it/linate-shuttle/en/index.html ) to the railway station Milano Centrale, that leaves from Linate every 30 minutes and reaches the station after a 25 minutes ride. From the station you can then take a train to Pavia (see above instructions for timetables and tickets ). This solution is cheaper than the others but the travel can be much longer.

Bergamo Orio al Serio International Airport:
The fastest way to reach Pavia from this airport is to take the coach Orio Shuttle from the airport to the train station Milano Stazione Centrale. The bus leaves every 30 minutes. You can see the timetable at http://www.orioshuttle.com/_eng/ , tickets can be bought directly on board. The travel is about 50 minutes long, it could be longer in the morning and in the evening due to the traffic.
From the Milan Central Station you can reach Pavia by train, you can then see the train timetables at http://www.trenitalia.com/tcom-en , the train tickets can be bought directly at the station.
